Celebrate the Flight with A Canvasback Ale
OAK HAMMOCK MARSH, MB, Sept. 17 - As flocks of Canada's waterfowl unite and take flight to wintering grounds south of the border, Ducks Unlimited Canada and Big Rock Brewery are teaming up in the western Canadian marketplace to promote the first anniversary of their combined promotion of Canvasback Ale.
With every bottle, can and keg purchase of Big Rock Brewery's Canvasback Ale, a donation is made to Ducks Unlimited Canada's conservation initiatives. Special marketing programs are being implemented at participating liquor outlets in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. People are being encouraged to celebrate the flight of Canada's waterfowl by "quacking open a cold one'' for habitat conservation.
"A great number of our 850 annual fund raising events happen during the fall flight,'' said Wayne Doherty, Ducks Unlimited's licensing manager. "Canvasback Ale is always a featured favorite.'' With Ducks Unlimited's event system established, the two organizations are now focusing on expanding the beer's marketplace presence.
"We encourage Canadians to support our conservation efforts through their purchasing power,'' said Doherty. "Along with Canvasback Ale, we offer a wide range of products and services that people can purchase as part of daily life.'' Ducks Unlimited currently has 1,800 licensed products and services.
"Supporting conservation becomes as simple as purchasing items that feature a Ducks Unlimited logo,'' Doherty said. "It becomes even simpler when you use a Ducks Unlimited MasterCard. With every purchase, money is donated to our conservation work.'' Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, Ducks Unlimited Canada has invested more than $857 million in over 5,700 conservation initiatives and conserved 18.4 million acres.
Ducks Unlimited Canada is a private, nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to the conservation of wetlands for the benefit of North America's waterfowl, other wildlife and people.
